Scripting, space design and user movement in room-scale VR: Storytelling strategies to direct gesture and gaze.

This text draws on the experience of developing and exhibiting two room-scale VR artworks in order to discuss relationship between scripting, virtual space design, interactive design with audience’s movements expected position physical space. Different scripting strategies allow or impede anticipate specific audience at every given time, this anticipation is key articulate elements a way that responds not just gaze but also overall movement person wearing headset. Both present different approaches from point view. In comparing them, main choices are shown particularly affect possibility anticipation: simplicity vs. complexity visual elements, sequencing simultaneity. While none more desirable than other per se, these conclusions shed some light how script for experiences terms deciding much artist wants control, anticipate, body their when experiencing piece.
